GOM Subsea HIPPS
CSI has been a key contributor to worldwide subsea HIPPS development projects including most of BSEE approved GOM Subsea HIPPS projects and 20K HIPPS qualification research including:
- Beacon Zephyrus pipeline HIPPS, GOM, Proserv (2024)
- Anadarko Warrior pipeline HIPPS, GOM, Proserv (2022 – 2023)
- BHP Shenzi North pipeline HIPPS, GOM, Proserv (2021 – 2022)
- Anadarko 20A Shenandoah project HIPPS (2017)
- 20K HPHT Subsea HIPPS Qualification JIP, GOM, Stress Engineering (2016)
- Subsea HIPPS 20K HPHT Development Program, Dril-Quip (2015)
- ExxonMobil GOM Julia HIPPS, GOM, Fluor Subsea (2012 -2013)
- Total E&P Islay HIPPS– HPHT (wells with electric tracing) project, Scotland, Dril-Quip (2010-2011)
- Cirrus M1A HIPPS Project, Netherlands, Dril-Quip (2009 -2010)
- Total E&P JURA West HIPPS project, Scotland, Dril-Quip (2008 -2009)
Our contribution to each project varied but included some of the following:
- Developed compliant functional safety work products (IEC 61508/61511) and led functional safety lifecycle activities for subsea HIPPS projects.
- Managed HAZOP, LOPA, HIPPS architecture studies to identify potential hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
- Led the development and implementation of software solutions for process automation projects in the oil and gas industry.
- Utilized Monte Carlo simulations to assess system reliability and identify critical failure modes and conducted SIL assessment and sensitivity studies for competing HIPPS architectures.
- Developed fault tree models and performed dynamic fault tree analysis to evaluate potential safety hazards in subsea production process, leading to the implementation of key safeguards.
- Conducted reliability/risk analysis studies including FMEDA, cyber-security risk management, and quantitative risk analysis/ SIL verification using various RAMS modelling tools (GRIF, exSILentia, Reliasoft, Saphire, etc) to ensure safety and compliance.
- Provided consultation on HPHT components design and qualification for subsea 20K HIPPS application.
- Redesigned JDA HIPPS architecture, reducing complexity and achieving significant CAPEX reduction and improved reliability.
- Implemented comprehensive approaches used for protecting infrastructure and securing data, including risk analysis and mitigation, cloud-based security, and compliance.
- Designed network architecture for IT/OT integrating SCADA systems and DCS/ and SIS.
- Collaborated with cross-functional teams including engineers, programmers, and operations personnel.
CSI also provided Reliability Analysis and SIL Verification studies for various General Electric (GE) Gas/Steam Turbines Safety Instrumented Functions (SIFs).
Autonomous Vehicles
CSI has worked with innovative automotive manufacturers to implement the following ADAS level 2 functions:
- Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB)
Our team led the functional safety activities in integrating AEB systems to enhance vehicle safety by automatically applying the brakes to prevent collisions or reduce their severity. - Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
We led cutting-edge Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) integration, allowing vehicles to maintain a safe following distance from other vehicles automatically.
- Lane Keeping System (LKS)
Our services enhanced our clients vehicle’s safety and convenience with Lane Keeping System (LKS) integration services to implement: - Lane Keeping System (LKS)
Our services enhanced our clients vehicle’s safety and convenience with Lane Keeping System (LKS) integration services to implement:
–> Lane Detection and Monitoring: Using advanced cameras and sensors, the LKS systems continuously monitor lane markings and detect unintentional lane departures.
–> Corrective Steering Assistance: The LKS provides gentle steering inputs to keep the vehicle within its lane, reducing the risk of accidents due to lane drift.
–> Customizable Settings: The system offers customizable LKS settings to suit driver preferences and different driving conditions, ensuring optimal comfort and safety.
Comprehensive ADAS Level 3 Integration
We provide end-to-end services for integrating ADAS Level 3 features, ensuring seamless functionality and enhanced driving experience.
Cyber Security
Implemented comprehensive approaches used for protecting infrastructure and securing data, including risk analysis and mitigation, cloud-based security, and compliance.
- Threat modeling for retail store on-line strategy to provide a secure, uninterrupted, and enhanced user experience to its existing and prospective customers.
- Implementation of a comprehensive business-continuity, backup, recovery, and archiving solution for banking institution.
- Review the security posture of a hospital’s operations and network against threats that can impact, or even shut down, due to a natural disaster or the harmful actions of bad actors.
We Provide the Best Service in Industry
What Our Clients Say…
L
“….For my team of engineers at Karma Automotive, who were new to ISO-26262, Don was a great coach who established internal processes, guided us in Functional Safety Concept creation, collaborated actively with my suppliers in agreeing on DIAs as well as translating FSRs to TSRs. For two of our carry-over components, Don successfully created the Proven-in-use argument. Here I could rely on him working independently to collect FMEAs from Suppliers, Failure Data from Field, performing FTA and documenting the complete argument….”
Amer Aijaz: Manager – Autonomous Vehicles
“…thorough, consistent and precise in his work while he was working as a subsea HIPPS consultant for Dril-Quip on a couple of our projects. His expertise in SIS from concept to production was an invaluable asset to our successful completion of the HIPPS. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Don while he was working for me at Dril-Quip…”
